Nigerian Movies You Must Watch on Netflix

The evolution of Nollywood film in the western world has been quite a journey. Back when DVDs were a thing, you could find stacks of movies in households of various ethnicities. Many of us who sat in the salon to braid our hair were often kept entertained by the Nollywood movies whose drama captivated everyone in the shop. From DVD’s to Youtube. That free access we were granted seemed too good to be true. However, I indulged thoroughly. I recall bonding with my then new friend, now one of my very good friends, during undergrad on Saturdays over Nollywood movies that had 3 parts. Often each part over an hour each. Even as early as a few years ago, when movie would come out in theaters in Nigeria that couldn’t be found anywhere, we would do the check, does anyone of the plug?

Netflix and Amazon Prime are the new stage. Nigerian films are not just being shared with those of us who know and enjoy them. People from all over the world have access.
