When I wake up I have a nasty habit of reaching for my phone before I reach for God. Consciously, I have been trying to break that. Anyone who knows me can vouch that I am not a morning person. Getting up and getting started is a huge lift. Those moments of trying to get together also distract from that intentional fellowship with God upon waking up. Often by the time I have forced myself alert, I am on to the next thing. Pushing back greeting God. Recognizing this, I have been slowly getting better.
This morning I started with a word of prayer. Sometimes my prayer sounds like what I said yesterday. However, I find peace in acknowledging God. By saying who He has been, continues to be, and how He has moved in my life, it’s a reminder to me of power of my father. In fact, I have been intentional about having days solely dedicated to prayers of thanksgiving, where I ask for nothing.
After prayer and devotional today, I decided to listen first today to Jireh by Elevation Church and Maverick City. It is one of my favorite songs. Very easy to bring forth that acknowledgment of the mighty God we serve. However, today the chronic comment reader in me decided to scroll on Youtube seeing that the video has 92 million views. The Youtube comment section of the Jireh video truly blessed me this morning. It is full of testimonies. Long or short, people all over the world are testifying about the move of God in their lives. It brought me to tears and elevated my spirit to read from so many people connected for a moment by this song share the multiple ways God shows up for His people.
It is so important to do the work you are called to do. That is what I feel this morning. Elevation and Maverick City created a timeless worship experience that moved the hearts, minds, and, spirits, of listeners to testify to the greatness of God. People struggling with something in their life are able to have peace for a moment just hearing remembering singing about Jehovah Jireh, our provider. By fulfilling their ministry these two groups are breaking chains and releasing faith. There are so many moments that take place for this result. God sparks an idea, someone had the confidence to share it out loud, collaboration and alignment from numerous people, time and effort collided all in goal to usher God into the atmosphere.
I pray that today you are blessed with an encounter with the presence of God.
