Instagram is the social media site I spend the most time on. At the beginning of the year, I did a cleanse of my feed. I unfollowed any accounts that were incredibly distracting, full of drama, plagued with negativity, and just did not have a positive affect on my spirit. Easily, I became blinded by the beaming light of boss ladies whose work envelopes me with inspiration. Meet them:
Ariane Ellsberry @mydear_ariane
This boss lady is a beast in one of my favorite industries, luxury real estate. Ariane makes me more tempted to move to Atlanta just to be her client more than the luxury real estate videos I have binged over the years. I have always felt a way about the lack of black female representation in the luxury real estate field. Ariane and the brokerage she is part of is an overdue breathe of fresh expensive, fashionable, black excellence air.
I love the way she creates and experience for her clients especially on signing day. She makes going above and beyond look effortless. Her behind the scenes and day in the life content is both informative on the state of the market and inspiring to see her navigating it with a top tier bar of excellence. It would be foolish of me to omit mentioning that Ariane dresses, honey. While she serves her clients, she serves looks.
Chioma @chiomagoodhair
Chioma is that rich aunty they speak of. Working hard, jet setting , looking like wealth while living her best life. She is a lawyer and entrepreneur based out of Lagos, Nigeria. Chioma has a hair business, Good Hair Ltd, that serves premium har to clients around the world. It is said that you are your best marketing, that is incredibly true when it comes to Chioma. You can find her in endless styles, color, and cuts of wigs laid to perfection. She also owns The Good Hair Space, a salon in Lagos as well as Brass and Copper a restaurant in Lagos. You can schedule Executive Coaching or Brand/Marketing Coaching with Chioma to plug into the wealth of knowledge she has amassed.
Whether it is taking in the behind the scenes of how she relates with her employees in Lagos, watching her viral videos, or seeing her live her best life around the world, I am hooked.
Mattie James @themattiejames
This wife and mom of 3 is such a breath of fresh air. Mattie James is the first influencer who made me look at the business side of content creating. She has expanded the minds of many bloggers and creators across platforms. Mattie even created one of the most helpful Facebook groups I’ve been a part of. The community of influencers, bloggers, and creators share ideas, ask questions, and break down aspects of the internet that seem daunting.
Mattie created the consistency challenge which I participated in last year. It has inspired me to take on my own self imposed one this year. Her lovely demeanor, attractive aesthetic, and effortless dropping of gems results in her being a staple at the top of my feed.
Lauren Wilson @iamlaurenlyrics
Lauren Wilson is a young successful real estate agent in Michagan. She and her husband are own properties, are landlords, and inspirational business people. She always shares where she was vs where she is now, and it is great motivation. This fashionable realtor does a fabulous job at showcasing the wisdom of multiple streams of income. Following Lauren, I became exposed to gaining passive income by owning vending machines, which she also coaches on.
Dr. Carnisha @_fancysuccess_
I first became exposed to the owner of Fancy Success through my obsession with finding the perfect fur coat to purchase. My search took me all over the internet and all over the world. That is until I came across this black owned fur coat company and its fabulous owner, Carnisha. While growing her The Fancy Success fur company, this boss lady simultaneously balanced pursuing a Phd, juggling her hair company, launching a consulting company, and remaining well traveled.
Olori Swank @oloriswank
I was first introduced to the blue haired celebrity stylist, Olori Swank, years ago as she shared her entrepreneurial journey. Through her influence I became exposed to great business resources and an inspiring Facebook group community. Many of her followers are women on their hustle who are passionate about winning and growth. It’s one thing for a person to be generous with their knowledge. It’s a whole other level for that same person to attract and create a community of like minded people.
Bozoma Saint John @badassboz
Bozoma Saint John is probably the most unapologetic badass woman I hav ever come across. She owns her intelligence, worth, and seat at the table with a lack of humility that is inspiring. I mean that as a huge compliment because women are always taught to shrink, be small, palatable, tone down. Then that is amplified for black woman who constantly move with the cautiousness of being to intimidating or cooperative. Bozoma walks in, takes up space, and speaks like :yes my intelligent beautiful self is here, and yes you are lucky to have me.” This dynamic marketer, business woman, and speaker is a game changer everywhere she goes.
Even if she says nothing, the Badass Boz influence alone speaks volumes. However, I love that even if you thought you were going to overlook her or discount her accomplishments, she will not let you. Even more beautiful is that she constantly pushes other to know their worth, demand it, and own their power. Digesting her effortless gems and radiant light is truly a blessing.
