When I turned 30 years old, I was about 2 weeks postpartum. On my birthday, I put on some makeup, took pictures, made a video you can find on my YouTube, then resumed newborn mommy duties. This milestone birthday came with a milestone life moment that consumed for many months after. By the next birthday, I was less paranoid helicopter new mom and more ready to woosah guilt free. It was time to plan a birthday trip.
When choosing a destination, my priorities were simple but non-negotiable: warm in February, luxury amenities, a great spa, good food, oceanfront views, and a chill atmosphere. Since I wasn’t bringing my baby, “adults only” was a must. Once I narrowed it down to Mexico, I faced another decision: where exactly? Mexican resorts are famous for all-inclusive packages and the lively, party centric energy that dominates social media feeds. The hype of spring break destinations like Cancún was fun to watch, but in reality, intoxicated crowds and pulsing music weren’t the vibe I was looking for.
I wanted rest, not turn up.
As I dug deeper into research, Cabo caught my attention. The region offered luxury all-inclusives that leaned more grown and sexy than shots shots shots. It promised oceanfront serenity; even if most beaches weren’t swimmable, which wasn’t a dealbreaker for me.
Cabo sounded like exactly what I needed.
When I say I researched, I mean it. I lived on TripAdvisor, booking sites, and Cabo vacation social media pages for days. I have so much appreciation for the people who take the time to give real reviews, post videos, and share their raw experiences. (As you can see, I’m trying to be like them now.)
Eventually, all that deep-diving led me to Marquis Los Cabos. When you first see images of this place online, it almost feels too good to be true. But social media posts and honest travelers’ footage validated it: the beauty was real. After stalking prices across different booking sites, I finally found an unbelievable deal on Priceline that brought joy to my heart. I booked a Junior Ocean View King Suite along with flights for a five-day escape.
Another first for this trip? Flying first class. It wasn’t a long flight, and the plane itself was a bit older, but the experience still felt luxurious. I remembered something Steve Harvey once said about first class,“Once you do it, it changes your mindset forever.” He was right. From the Delta Lounge to the service onboard, I kept thinking, Yeah, this is for me.
Once we landed in Cabo, finding transportation was easy. The area is resort-heavy, and the airport taxis are well-organized. Just tell them your resort name, and they’ll group you into a van with others headed in the same direction. Marquis Los Cabos was only a short ride from the airport, which I immediately appreciated.
My husband and I were the only passengers being dropped off there. When our fellow travelers saw the resort, I heard a few audible gasps. Someone even asked aloud“Where is this?!”
Yes—Marquis Los Cabos resort is that beautiful.

Once our reservation was confirmed, we were granted access to the property and escorted toward the outdoor check-in area. No traditional lobby here. It felt as if the designers wanted guests to be immediately immersed in the stunning outdoors, the backdrop of the ocean, the dramatic open-air architecture, the soft rush of warm air against your skin. It dripped luxury.
As we checked in, a welcome drink in hand, I could feel the atmosphere of Marquis pulling at me, whispering: “Breathe. Indulge. Relax.” I planned to do exactly that.
First Impressions: Open-Air Beauty at Marquis Los Cabos
Making our way to our room at Marquis Los Cabos, one thing became instantly clear: this resort was designed to make you feel Cabo. The halls blend indoor and outdoor architecture, creating an open-air feeling that follows you everywhere—from the breezy corridors to your private balcony.
Whether you crack open your balcony door or simply roam the halls, you are fully immersed in the tranquil, sun-kissed atmosphere of Los Cabos.
The Room: Bright, Warm, and Unmistakably Mexican
The room at Marquis Los Cabos was stunning—not in the cold, ultra-modern style that dominates so many hotels today, but in a way that proudly reminds you: this is Mexico.
I loved the purposeful design choices, like the tan tile floors accented with rich brown tile details, creating a visually beautiful and cohesive look. These deep tones tied perfectly with the warm wood touches throughout the suite—from the solid doors to the armoire and furniture.
Even with the deep tan and dark brown tones, the room felt undeniably bright and open. Crisp white sheets, a cheerful orange couch, and an ocean-facing balcony welcomed sunlight to flood the space. It felt warm. Authentic. Alive.
The Bathroom: A Private Spa Experience
And the bathroom! C’mon!
A large standalone bathtub sat between the bedroom and the bathroom, separated by a curtain for optional privacy. There was also a spacious standing shower with a rainfall showerhead that I could not get enough of. The toilet had its own separate glass doored room; and if I’m not mistaken, there was even a phone installed inside. (Someone thought, why walk back to the room when you can order room service from the toilet?)
As someone who travels with a full beauty setup, I loved the gorgeous, spacious vanity. There was more than enough counter space for my beauty case, which made getting ready feel luxurious and easy.
Amenities: Comfort at Every Turn
Marquis Los Cabos really thought of everything when it comes to guest comfort.
The mini-fridge in our room was constantly restocked with complimentary snacks, sodas, and waters—a thoughtful touch that made it easy to relax without worrying about minor expenses. There was also ample closet space to hang up clothes and shoes, keeping the room feeling uncluttered even with a longer stay. When you picked up the phone to call concierge they answered you by name. Anything served to your room could easily be disposed of in the rooms waste cabinet that connected to the hallway for easy pickup by resort attendants.
Little details like these made the experience feel truly all-inclusive and generous—not just in food and drink, but in the feeling of being taken care of.
🍴 Dining at Marquis Los Cabos: Elevated and Abundant
One of the standout features of Marquis Los Cabos was the dining.

I had ceviche for the first time at one of the casual restaurants and have been chasing that fresh flavor ever since, unfortunately to no avail. There was a hearty 24-hour room service menu, which we leaned on for breakfast and my husband used to satisfy his steak cravings.
As I lounged by the pool, I was able to order delicious tacos and drinks delivered right to my seat—relaxation at its finest. We also indulged in the breakfast buffet, which was a particular highlight: fresh tropical fruits, made-to-order omelets, traditional Mexican dishes, pastries, and fresh juices. Dinner options ranged from seafood to Italian to beautifully prepared Mexican cuisine, all complemented by attentive service and a truly peaceful atmosphere.
For my birthday, I opted for the Hibachi experience. It was thoroughly entertaining, but if I’m honest, it was my least favorite flavor-wise.
On my infinity pool day, I met a beautiful woman celebrating her wedding anniversary. We bonded over our solo pool time, swapping stories under the sun. The next morning at breakfast, she raved about the private beach dining experience—calling it delicious, romantic, and absolutely worth it. While I didn’t get a chance to experience it for myself, it sounded like a must do next trip.
💆🏽♀️ The Spa at Marquis Los Cabos: A Sanctuary Within a Sanctuary
The spa at Marquis Los Cabos exceeded my expectations. It was a wholistic experience which was a pleasant surprise. I booked a massage but unbeknownst to me was in for an experience. The spa portion of the resort takes the atmosphere of relaxation up a notch. The service was impeccable from the front desk, to the attendants, and masseuse. Upon entering, I was shown to a locker room to change. Robe and slippers were provided. After my massage I was guided to an area to lounge and offered hot tea. When I was told to take advantage of the sauna and hot tub, I did not hesitate. Outside in the hot tub, towels were provided. Someone even came to offer me a fretting infused water and cucumbers for my eyes. Everytime I found myself more content, they upped it up a notch.
🏖️ Pool and Beach: Where Relaxation Meets Beauty
Marquis Los Cabos offers the best of both worlds: stunning pools and immediate beachfront access.

Whether you indulge in the elegant infinity pool set right in from of the ocean view or take a dip at the expansive pools, there’s plenty of space to find a peaceful corner. Sometimes I just sunbathed, cooled down in the pool, or simply read while the warm breeze and sun caressed me.
The beach at Marquis Los Cabos is equally breathtaking. While the waves can be a bit strong for swimming (common on this stretch of Cabo’s coast), the beach itself is wide, clean, and perfect for long morning walks or sunset strolls.
Final Thoughts: A Destination That Lives and Breathes Cabo
If it is not clear, I highly recommend Marquis Los Cabos Resort & Spa. I had the opportunity to tour a nearby very luxurious property. It was huge, very beautiful, and family friendly. It was the kind of place, I would come on a family trip. But, when I compare the two, it did not have the intimate, charming character, relaxing atmosphere of the Marquis.
If you’re looking for an all inclusive adult only luxury resort in Los Cabos that feels culturally rich, beautifully designed, deeply relaxing, and amazing service Marquis Los Cabos absolutely delivers. I cannot wait to return to try one of the oceanfront casitas.
